Preserving the Woodneath Legacy at Mid-Continent Public Library

Your gift to the Woodneath Legacy Campaign supports the adaptive reuse of the historic home at Woodneath, built by Elbridge and Finetta Arnold in 1855-1856 and home to the Crouch Family for six generations. The funding needed to complete the plans totals $3 million, which the Library plans to acquire through a combination of private fundraising and a National Endowment for the Humanities Challenge Grant that awards a 3:1 match of contributions up to $300,000.

Once restored, the home will serve as the Story Center at Mid-Continent Public Library, with programs and exhibits focused on the art of storytelling, as well as the national headquarters for the National Storytelling Network.

For additional information about the Story Center Program, the adaptive reuse of the home, or the NEH Challenge Grant, please contact the MCPL Development Office at 816.521.7260 or development@mymcpl.org.
